At Lavenders Care Home we strive for the highest levels of quality in all that we do. And our efforts have been recognised by others – which gives peace of mind to everyone
Here at Lavenders we know that both residents and staff are happy and content because they tell us so on a regular basis. But how can you judge whether a care setting is right for you or your loved one?
Fortunately, there are independent systems in place to check on the quality of everything from food hygiene to care practices and we are open to regular inspection by external agencies. We are always very proud of the feedback and results, but are never complacent, and always striving to improve.

A good rating from the Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates, inspects and reviews all care homes in England. Copies of our inspection report can be found on the left by clicking “Inspection Reports” but here is an excerpt:

Five stars for food hygeine
At the time of our last inspection in 2019, we were awarded the maximum of five stars for the quality of management and hygiene of our excellent catering department by the Food Standards Agency. So, not only do the team create stunning food for our residents, they create their delicious meals in a clean and safe environment. You can view our rating here

Investing in our people
Here at Lavenders we invest time and money in on-going staff training. We have supported staff with their studies to achieve NVQs in management, care and housekeeping. In addition, we have encouraged all our employees to attend training sessions to help maintain a high standard of care and accommodation in areas such as:
- Fire Lectures
- Safe Handling of Medicines
- Infection Control
- Health and Safety
- Food Hygiene
- First Aid
We know this brings benefits for our residents but it is also an important investment in our people so they have the skills and confidence to do their job well and feel valued as vital members of our team.
