A real family home

As a family owned and run care home, we are a tight-knit team. Everyone understands our ethos and our long-serving, highly trained team is our biggest asset…

Gp6

Here at Lavenders we provide around-the-clock care, seven days a week. And that would not be possible without our team of over 60 exceptional staff members. From care managers and assistants to activity co-ordinators, cleaners, cooks and maintenance, we operate as one, all dedicated to ensuring the health, wellbeing, safety and happiness of residents.

We are fortunate enough to have a high staff-to-resident ratio, which means we can really give personal attention to each individual and are able to get to know our residents really well.

We are also lucky that we all love our work and environment so much that we have a low staff turnover. That’s because we look after our people as well as our residents – ensuring that everyone receives the training and recognition they need and deserve. This means there is consistency of care and we get to form genuine, lasting connections.

Meet the team

Marcus Webb, Proprietor

Marcus took over the running of Lavenders from his parents in 1995 after a career in IT for several London-based companies. His strong business and finance background helped him to become one of the very first people in the UK to achieve an NVQ4 Care Registered Managers award. He is responsible for finance and administration and lives in Aylesford with his wife Emma (also a member of the team) and their two sons.

Candyce Brockwell, Registered Manager

Candyce joined the team at Lavenders in 2002, bringing with her years of experience in the residential care home sector. She has also worked in community care and as a senior paramedic for Kent Ambulance NHS Trust. Candyce ensures that everything at Lavenders runs smoothly, supervising the care team and overseeing the housekeeping staff. She lives in Maidstone, is married with three children and is the owner of Hooch, one of our friendly canine visitors.

Adele Green, Activities Co-ordinator

Adele joined Lavenders in 2010 and is one half of our activities team, responsible for planning, organising and co-ordinating our enrichment programme of events. Day to day she oversees everything from gardening club to the booking of external entertainment and helps residents with the planning of their day trips out. When she’s not busy running a bingo session or organising chair aerobics, Adele lives in Aylesford with her husband and son.

Emma Webb, Office Manager

Emma has worked at Lavenders as office manager since 2015, ensuring everything in the office runs smoothly. She supports the registered manager and partners – and also happens to be married to Marcus.

Dean Austin, Maintenance Manager

Dean is one of our longest serving members of staff, having joined in 1994, and is responsible for the upkeep of the beautiful gardens that we all enjoy. He is also handy with a hammer and is always happy to help residents with the putting up of pictures and shelves.

We look forward to welcoming you
